Weekly Reflection #1
Looking back on our first week of senior project, I am very happy with what we have accomplished and am really looking forward to what is to come with our time up there. Not only does the area look a long cleaner and more presentable, but when everything is maintained properly, you even can feel more comfortable in some places and we want this lean-too at Mud Pond to be used by all faculty, staff, and students. Although the first few days were a little slower than planned, we were able to make up that time by putting in extra effort every time we go up to the pond.
Towards the end of the week, we started to clear the path that goes all the way around the pond and found overgrown paths and many fallen duck boxes. In this week coming up, we want to try to clear that path all the way around the pond so people are able to see the beautiful pond from all angles. Some people will never understand the beauty of the places that are here on Proctor's campus and Mud Pond is one of those cites that I believe everyone should see. Along with that, we also want to start picking up all of the broken duck boxes.
Some of the duck boxes up at Mud Pond are very broken and others will be able to be re-hung after some fixing. While we are clearing the path around the pond, I think we should try to bring flagging tape so we can remember where we see all of the duck boxes. I think it is very important to re-hang as many as we can because when we are around the pond, we see all kinds of birds flying in and out of all of the boxes, and with more boxes, there will hopefully come more birds and maybe even become a spot for bird watching. I am very excited for the week to come and I hope we can get as much work done as possible.
Sounds like you all are working hard.
